A-Na-Lay Resort Koh Kood ★★★

The location on the beach was great. Beautiful beach and snorkeling right in front of the resort.

Our room clearly wasn’t ready to have people in it. The roof had an unfinished patch plus missing skirting boards. The bathroom ceiling leaked but they did fix it when we informed them.

The location was great with excellent value for money. The staff were very nice, helpful and happy as well. The food was not consistent, sometimes it was OK and sometimes it was great but overall good. There are kayaks and snorkels that can be used and a great place to relax on the beach or by the pool.

The only negative part of the stay was that the bathroom does not have much ventilation and it gets a weird musty smell, it would have been better if the window could open.

The location of the hotel was a treat to the senses. The food at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. All the staff were happy to help and made us feel welcomed.

I would suggest to do more maintenance on the boardwalks as there were wobbly strips in some parts. Check areas for plastic debris brought by the current and remove as much as possible.

It’s like paradise! The location is wonderful! The beach is so beautiful at the resort!

This resort is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! We were booked at another hotel but had to change and I stumbled across this resort not knowing what a gem it was. We arrived late at night unexpectedly and the owners were so gracious and hospitable. We were immediately made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The beach is absolutely pristine and the snorkeling off the jetty is the best we've found. We were given what was billed as a garden view but we had an awesome view of the sea in a little bungalow on the hill side. The resort is very in keeping with the environment, absolutely perfect and we will be returning as soon as we possibly can

There's nothing not to like

When I read the reviews I was quite afraid it wouldn't be pleasant. The beds could be more comfortable, but a part from that everything else is perfect. Staff are really nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Location is perfect, just next to a nice beach. Room was clean. Will come back :)

Friendly staff and great location on a beautiful private beach! Clear water and clean, quiet beaches made this a perfect stay! Fair priced food and beachfront massages. Make sure to check out the nearby Heaven Italian restaurant! Although we were first given a bungalow that was not very nice, after speaking to management we were swiftly upgraded free of charge, into a more modern, well maintained beach hut.

Some of the beach huts are in real need of upgrading, had we have been stuck in the first hut we were given- we would have been unhappy with the quality and value for money. So make sure to ask for one of the blue huts nearer to the pool/beach area. Also there does seem to be a strong bad smell in some areas of the resort.

We complain and they exchanged us for a better room still bad, but at least no geckos in the inside and the mattress wasn't in the floor. The beach is beautiful, the bathroom was good and the pool was good.

When we arrive the entrace of the "complex" full of garbage every where, the staff was on the phone no attempt of working. Give us a crappy room that locked with a padlock from the outside so we had to sleep with door open, the bed was on the floor, no tv, no fridge no safe nothing! And lots of geckos inside the room, that room was near a small river so had thousand mosquitos and horrible smell. No maintenance so the woods to the facilities and around the pool are unsafe. The staff avoid eye contact all cost. Breakfast was small and the place had a smell of sewer in the morning. Pool/beach sunbeds all broken. Towels old and with holes, sheets with staines and holes, curtain as well the with holes...

The island is beautiful and would recommend to stay there, just not in this resort. Only good aspect was the location with the private beach.

The pictures on booking.com do not reflect the actual place. - the whole place is run down and old. Was never maintained and needs severe maintenance. - place looks like a dump: rubbish (plastics, broken glass, etc) everywhere on the resort. Electricity wires on walking paths. Concern for safety if coming with kids. - we were given a bungalow with view on a swamp as opposed to garden view as booked. It took more than 2 hours for the staff to solve the issue and were proposed with a couple other bungalows (including next to the collective toilets) before having one acceptable/as per booking. Seems it was the same issue for any new clients arriving. - bungalows do not necessarily have hot water. Lights broken. Mice. Not very clean. - staff are extremely unfriendly and incompetent. Have no clue how to run a resort. - hygiene at the restaurant is more than doubtful. Sewage smell from the toilets which comes in wofts through reception where you eat you meals.

Beach and the underwater world was beautiful.

Entrance is one big mountain of rubish. Between the bungalows a lot of rubish aswell. Spirals of the matras popping out. No internet, only the last day. Just a few sunbeds at swimmingpool and beach. Paths on resort and above the water is destroyed. Price of 60 euro per night is a big shame. We are deaply shocked and very disapointed. Never experienced this in my life as a tourism manager....

After booking a room at short notice a couple of days before arriving in Koh Kut, we properly read the reviews the night before we were set to stay a-na-lay we were a little hesitant and even considered cancelling our booking. BUT once we got there we just couldn't understand why there were so many negative reviews. We had an amazing 5 nights here! Yes, the property may be a little bit rum down but i think that adds to the charm and the facilities were amazing. A beautiful private beach with great snorkeling right of the beach, a delicious restaurant with excellent Thai food, a nice bar to have a drink after a long day and very friendly band accommodating staff. I'd also recommend trying the food at the little side of the road restaurant called Kulada, it had super delicious, well priced food - the larb is a must try!!

The bed was definitely not the comfiest we've ever slept on but that really didn't bother us given all the great things about a-na-lay

The location is really nice with a good beach and restaurant with sea view. The scooters for rent are decent and really necessary to explore the island

Everything is a bit old and feels worn out. The beds are very hard, door didnt close well and the toilet didn't flush well. Also, they didnt have any beach towels for rent or to use. If it was a bit cheaper it would be okay, but 50 euro per night is too much for what you get.

- beach was the most beautiful with awesome view and pure blue water - great for snorkeling - staff was great and always helpful - cleaning was every 2 days - big terrace and also the whole bungalow - store was nearby - peaceful place - rental possibilities motorbike, kayak...

- matterace...... Was THE WORST old (broken) spring matterace - lack of chairs on the terace, when we requested nothing happened, so we "borrowed" from empty neighboring bungalow - the cabel next to us was everyday lower and lower - the whole area was little bit unkeeping but nothing serious - way to the beach was little bit difficult (we were crossing other bungalows terrace and found the right way during the last day) maybe some navigating signs could be helpful

The location is amazing! Private beach with amazing views! The food is also amazing!

We were expecting a bit more from A-Na-Lay. The location is a great spot with so much potential. It seemed that the staff did not spend much time taking care of the grounds, but with some TLC it could be a real gem. Outside our room there was a good amount of trash (condom wrapper, old cardboard boxes, broken lawn furniture) it was sad that no staff would clean the area. The rooms are very basic and seem a bit overpriced for what you get.
